Donald and I often have this discussion. How our perception creates our reality, he will also talk about how we are all made of the same matter, even the stars. Myself, I can stop the thoughts and just see the flower is red. Much simpler 🌹 Beautifully written, perfectly explained Jenni, thank you 🙏
Thank you, Judith. Being able to quiet the mind as you describe is a beautiful experience, one that is nurtured by spending time in nature and listening deeply, as you do. 🌹
Thank you for the idea. I could definitely write about water fasting; I would enjoy that a lot. I spent many years exploring and experimenting with this, from 3 to 10 days, water only. The cleanse works far deeper than just the body when the intention is there. A wonderful Yogic austerity, too. I will fast again in early September; perhaps then I will write about it too.
What stayed with me most, Jenni, is the distinction between reality and the version of it our mind immediately constructs. I’ve felt how quickly a simple moment can become covered by memory, fear, or expectation until we are no longer responding to what is actually there. Your return to the tree, the flower, and the eyes simply seeing feels almost like clearing a window. Not escaping the world, but meeting it before we add ourselves to it.
Hi Antonio, that distinction you described is the very essence of the article. It changes everything when we begin to see through the mind's mirage of reality. Yes, we are definitely not escaping the world; in fact, we can begin to be with it, to see it with more reverence and awe.
You have explained this in such a truly beautiful and profound way.
The way we interpret our own perception and how we view the world is often shaped by our conditioning. We often unconsciously project these patterns onto others.
But what if we were able to let all of this go and truly be who we are? Then, in the end, only LOVE remains.
Thank you for expressing this with such clarity and beauty.
Yes, that is perfectly articulated. You have introduced how we do this unconsciously. I will add to this, too, that projection is actually the cause of almost all of our suffering. Without it, we return to love-I love how you have said this! Thank you for sharing, and for reading this so deeply.
Thank you for explaining this so beautifully. I really enjoy reading how clearly and insightfully you write about these topics.
When I was just beginning to explore the spiritual world, I would have loved to read your articles. They are written in such a practical way, which makes them easy to understand and accessible.
My compliments, and thank you for sharing your knowledge in such a meaningful way.
It's a never ending battle with the ego and fighting it only strengths it. The desire to stay in oneness is often the very thing the ego uses to keep us out of it. Oneness isn't a destination, it's the ground we are already standing on. Love this article Jenni 🌹
This is beautiful, what you said here - “Oneness isn't a destination, it's the ground we are already standing on” - absolutely perfect; it is the whole truth in one line. Thank you, Judith, for receiving this with such depth 🤍
Wonderful exposition, Jenni! There is always the discussion between real and reality. Two concepts only consciousness can bridge! For many of us, making this translate into daily practicality is a challenge. Keep on creating movement in your readers. You link different sources of wisdom, Jenni!
Thank you so much, Richard! For your insights and encouragement! I really do appreciate it. Yes, my learning and sharing have sprouted from various sources over the years, but when it comes to consciousness, it all unites, doesn’t it? What are your thoughts?
There is lots of wisdom, but few make it pragmatic or applicable to life's situations. Thank you!! My perspective is more between inner being and external expression. Even the soul has a personality, of which we are part of. In addition, we create. This expands our existence even further, especially it you see this in a bigger picture, like mankind. So muh to explore. In short, I think you are having wonderful journey!

You’ve covered several important points. When we see something, we don’t really see it as it is. We reconstruct it through thoughts that arise from our conditioning, even though the object itself appears unchanged. I also liked how you brought together the perspectives of Vedanta and quantum physics.
I especially liked your description of the Zen approach: the tree is still, the flower is red, the eye can see. There is no need to add anything. Simply use the sense of sight to see the still tree and the red flower, while also being aware that the eye is seeing. It is about allowing perception to remain direct, without thoughts stepping in between the seeing and the awareness that we are seeing.
Countless practitioners have found this approach effective. As long as thoughts do not come between perception and awareness, this itself can become a calm meditation.
It really is a calm meditation, whilst being fully present and engaged in daily life. This almost sounds to me like something Krishna would say, don’t you think? I know these were your words, but they also feel like the truth and simplicity of Krishna’s wisdom. You are so in attunement.
It is beautiful to share this exploration of consciousness, reality and truth with you here.
I’m pretty terrible at looking at a beautiful flower without having a silent conversation with it. I can’t look at trees and flowers as though they were objects. They are my confidants—living, feeling beings that don’t speak in words, but through feeling.
In my experience, dreams have different qualities. Freed from the restrictions of the physical world, we soar. I have quite literally crossed a ocean in a dream. I could hear the roar of air. I have hovered above the earth at the edge of space. All of these experience are witnessed as an onlooker, like watching a movie but playing a part in it.

The words I often use to remind myself of Reality — rose is red, sky is blue, grass is green.
It was a good article Jenni, and I loved listening to it in your voice. 🙏🏻
I wonder how you did the 7 days water fast. Maybe you can write about that too 😊..

I am getting inspired too. 😊
Maybe you will join me for a some time for a short fast 😊
Done! I would love to do that. Please keep me posted on that. 😊
I will, for sure. Where are you living, Priyanka? Are you in India or elsewhere?
I am in India (Bangalore) Jenni.

So I’m quite a non-Zenner. 😊
That conversation is the silent language of nature and animals, being-to-being though, not mind projections.
